Candidate background
We are seeking highly motivated national and international PhD applicants with a strong academic background and a deep interest in metaflammation and translational research. The standard duration of the PhD program is 3 years. Candidates interested in the PhD program are invited to explore the available projects under the 'Open Call Projects' section. To be considered for the position, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
✔ Master’s degree (or equivalent) in natural sciences and related fields
* Candidates must hold a Master’s certificate by the official start of the PhD, which can be up to 6 months after the notification of results in August 2025.
✔ Strong interest in metaflammation and immunometabolism
✔ Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team combining basic and clinical research
✔ Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
📌 Candidates with a background in metabolic diseases, chronic inflammation, or translational medicine are especially encouraged to apply.

✔ Curriculum Vitae (CV): Including academic degrees, awards, and research experience
✔ Letter of Motivation: Outline your research interests, career aspirations, and the departments you wish to apply to
✔ 90-Second Pitch Video: A brief introduction highlighting motivation and interests, it is not supposed to be professional
✔ Evidence of sufficient knowledge of English: A language certificate, a statement from your university, or other relevant documentation
✔ Two Letters of Recommendation: Provided by referees. Letters must be submitted using the provided template, which can be downloaded below. Use of the template is mandatory.
✔ Additional qualifications and achievements: Applicants may upload one additional PDF with relevant certificates, such as academic awards, conference participation, research internships, leadership roles, or other achievements. This is optional and should only be included if it meaningfully supports the application
